Thank you to everyone who came to see our season opening performances of Frankenstein. Don’t miss the rest of the season ❣️

Three more new dancers with BV this season!

Meet Eugene Pang who will be dancing the role of Dr. Frankenstein’s butler this weekend. Born in Hong Kong, he moved to Australia to continue his ballet training before joining Milwaukee Ballet II. This bright, young artist will dazzle you ...with his technique.

Then we have Moyne and Zulme, Myrtha’s ruthless lieutenants (Wilis) portrayed by Tess Pepetone and Elisha Woo, two recent graduates of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet. Originally from Ontario, Tess is powerful and athletic in her role as Moyne. Elisha, originally from Winnipeg, gives Zulme a fluid and fierce technique in the ballet.

These three artists are already making an impact in the company and we can’t wait for you to see them on stage!

Come and enjoy the unbridled power of young talent.

New dancer, Niamh Perrins as Myrtha, the Queen of the Wilis, describes her interpretation of the role that traditionally belongs to the classic ballet Giselle.

“My character is both powerful and confident in her actions. Myrtha does not doubt her ability to control the situation, and ...does so with utter composure. Myrtha is often portrayed as being vengeful and even characterized as being evil, but I conceptualize her as seeking justice; for the collective wrongs historically committed against women.

As a dancer, my goal is to capture the essence of her strength by alternating between explosive movements and moments of stillness within the brilliant and demanding choreography. It’s a rare female role that requires a high level of sheer athleticism. The emphasis on allegro (big jumps) requires strength, stamina, and musicality. As a dancer, it is a dream role that allows me to explore my capacity as both an athlete and as an artist.

⭐️New dancer Joshua Sinclair - Born in Dauphin, Manitoba, I grew up in Winnipeg. I just started the 2024-25 Season in July with Ballet Victoria. Frankenstein is a blend of original choreography by Paul Destrooper and act II of the ballet Giselle. I am thrilled to have been cast in a lead role ...as the creature, especially as a newcomer.
I am honoured to be dancing alongside Risa Kobayashi, a seasoned principal dancer, who is helping me develop. Preparing for this role has been the greatest challenge of my career but I am excited for the opportunity !
